Sometimes a work with a single bibliographic record can have parts of different sizes shelved with different call numbers. For example an octavo volume of text accompanied by a phonograph album, or a quarto volume of text accompanied by a folded map that is unfolded and shelved as a broadsize. In these situations, make a local note describing the material that is shelved separately. Make separate holdings records for each piece: one holdings record for the “text” and another holdings record for the material shelved separately. A public note (‡z) in the 852 field can be used to provide additional information.
